is it ok to use surgical spirit on silver earrings?
i am taking my cartilage piercing earring out for the first time today. and i’m planning to put a silver earring into it. is it ok to use surgical spirit on it?.. if not, what do you recommend?
I really wouldn’t use silver jewellery.
It tarnishes for a start.
Stick to surgical steel or titanium (both silver coloured), hypoallergenic, and much better quality.
Surgical spirit is okay to dunk new earrings in for a few hours, but you need to rinse it off properly with water after, its too harsh for piercings.
And it will merely sanitise, not actually sterlise it properly.
